Krakow in Poland / ポーランド(クラコフ)

ポーランドのクラコフという町に行ってきたよ。日本で言うところの京都のようなところで、古都の美しい町並みを楽しんできました。ここは旧ドイツ軍の本部がおかれていたため、戦火を免れたので今でも中世の建物が残っていてとてもきれいでした。またオシフィエンチム（ドイツ語でアウシュビッツ）の強制収容所にも近い都市でいろいろと歴史を考えさせられるたびでした。ポーランドは物価が安く食べ物もおいしかった。

Traveled in Krakow of Poland. This place is situated south west of Warsaw, and attracts many tourists from all over the world because of beautiful scenery and historical place. Krakow used to be a center of art like Vienna and Prague. Polish traditional food, which is served at reasonable price, tastes nice for Japanese food preference.

Live8

アフリカの貧困を救う目的から始まったLive8。日本でもコンサートが開かれたようですが、こちらベルリンでもジーゲスゾイレのコンサート会場はすっごい人だかりだったよ。入場料無料でベルリンだけでなく世界からの音楽が聴けるとあっていろんな人がいました。ビール飲んで酔っ払ってその辺で寝てる人や家族や友達とわいわいやってる人など。ベルリンでは私の知ってる有名どころではAh-ha、ロンドンの中継ではマドンナ、アメリカのフィラデルフィアからはウィル・スミスなど。日本でもドリカムとかがコンサートしてたらしい。

Live8 was held on 2nd of July right in front of Siegesssaule in Berlin. Although many drunkers were everywhere, people came to see the concert where musicians including big names such as Ah-ha in Berlin, Madonna in London and Will Smith in Philladelphia played music. We could also see the satellite live with the big screen at the concert.

エルクナーでのカヌー/Canoe in Erkner

近頃感じることはやっと夏がベルリンにもやってきた！とても天気のよい日だったので、ベルリンのS3線に乗ってセンターから1時間ほどかけて、エルクナーというところまで行ってカヌーをしてきました。ここでは小型クルーザーやらカヤックやらカヌーもしくは勝手に泳ぐという方法でドイツ人は休日を楽しんでいるようです。中には水着もなしでまるっきり裸状態の人もいておいおい下ぐらいつけてくださいよ。といってみたかった。日本と比べれば、普通の夏の陽気なのに、こっちの人は暑さでへばってしまうみたいで、気持ちもわかるけど…

I enjoyed Canoeing in Erkner of Berlin where is the last stop of S2 line, and it takes about 1 hour from Mitte. As it was so nice weather, we went there with a little training. However, there was so much traffice on the water with people who enjoy cruising by motor boats, Kayaks, kanoes other than just enjoy swimming.

旧東ドイツの車/Ex-Eastern German Car

たまたまベルリン市内で見かけたふるーい車。どうやらこれはトラバントというらしく、ザクセンリンク自動車工場で生産されていたそうです。一緒にいたオランダ人の友達が旧東ドイツの車と教えてくれました。ベンツやBMWやワーゲンといったドイツの代表的な車がそこいらじゅうは知っている中、この車もがんばって走ってるんだねーと思ってしまった。

This car seems to be made in ex-Eastern Germany a few decades ago. It is probably called Trabant made in Sachsenring. Such the old car was found in the center of Berlin, whereas many cars like BMW and Mercedes are on the road.

Culture Carnival

各国の文化を題材にしたカーニバルが5月15日に一日中開かれました。特に先頭のアフリカ音楽とともにパフォーマンスを披露していたアフリカのダンサーはさすがだったよ。彼らの血を感じてしまったよ。この催し物は朝からなんと夜9時までパフォーマンスの行列が100以上のグループとともにありました。前のほうの集団はプロフェッショナルな感じで後のほうは趣味という感じでした。しかし一日中踊り続けるのも大変だなぁ。ご苦労ご苦労。

Karneval der Kulturen was held on 15th to demonstrate own culture with nice music. All professionals ans amateur musicians and dancers have been performed in Kreutzberg area, and the procession was made from morning till 9:00 p.m. with more than 100 groups.

マインツ/Mainz

ライン川沿いの町マインツにいってきました。ドイツの空の玄関口であるフランクフルトから電車で約30分の町、マインツ。マインツの中央駅から徒歩圏内ですべて主要な観光ができるかわいらしい町。教会がいたるところにあり、その中の一つがクリストゥス教会/Christuskircheで写真はカイザー通り/Kaiser strasseからの眺め。Domとよばれる大聖堂はマルクと広場にあり、より大きくて厳かな印象を受けました。

Mainz is in 30 minutes distance from Frankfurt by regional train or inter city express. Christuskirche is one of the churches in the town along with Kaiser strasse. Another notable cathedral is so called Dom in the heart of Markt plaza.

ジャンダルメンマルクト/Gendarmenmarkt

ベルリン中心部（Mitte）のウンターデンリンデンから2ブロック、フリードリッヒ通りから1ブロックはいったところにある広場ジャンダルメンマルクトにあるドイツ大聖堂。向かいにあるのはフランス大聖堂（現在工事中）。中世のドイツらしい建築物で、その2つの中央にはコンサートハウス/Konzerthausがあります。

Gendarmenmarkt situates one block behind from Unter Den Linden and Friedrich str. in mitte. This medieval times architecture and a French dome, currently underconstruction, stand opposite each other. Also a concert house is between in those domes.

Check Point Charlie

ベルリンの中心部にあるKockstrasse.st.の真上にある旧アメリカ軍の領域にあった検問所。ベルリンはてっきりアメリカとロシアの領域（西と東）に分かれていただけだと思っていたけど実は4つに分割されていたのです。旧西地区はアメリカ･イギリス･フランス軍が駐在し旧東地区はロシア軍がコントロールしていました。写真は今と昔の検問所の様子。今日はベルリンの歴史の一部を紹介しました。。

This picture demonstrates ex-berlin and current berlin at Check Point Charie. American armies used to control from this point. If you go to the museum where is just above the Kockstrasse.st, you will see the impressive old pictures in Berlin and recognize how Berlin was divided into 4 territories.

Berlin wall

ソニーセンターのあるPootsdamer platz. st.のそばにある昔のベルリンの壁の一部。この周辺は昔壁があり今とはかなり違う雰囲気。現在はソニーセンターやダイムラークライスラービルやベルリンフィルハーモニーのコンサート会場などが立ち並び、一つのショッピングセンターとなっています。

Here used to be a Berlin wall devided by Russian and US+UK+FR territories. Nowadays, there is a convention hall, movie theater, concert hall, shopping center etc. You can feel that Berlin is changing dramatically in the recent 10 years.

Leipzig

ライプツィヒに行ってみたよ。ベルリンZoo.St.からICE特急で1時間45分の町Leipzig。バッハやゲーテなどの文化人のゆかりの地です。とくにThomas Kirche/トーマス教会(地図1)ではバッハがなくなるまで指導をしたことで有名。小さい町なので歩いてどこへでもいけます。ほかにもコーヒー博物館やバッハ博物館などあり、実際コーヒー博物館にはバッハの楽譜にもコーヒーが「Ich have coffe~」と書いてあるように昔からコーヒーが楽しまれてたんだなーと思ってしまったよ。

Leipzig is known as the town of artists such as J.S.Bach an Goethe. It's located south east of Berlin and it takes 1:45 by ICE. Thomas Kirche(Map1) is the cathedral where Bach used to play until he past away.
